Water main installation along Old Ferry Road, Commodore Court and Captains Way.
The works will include removal of trees within Council verge to accommodate the water main alignment, laying of the new water main, new property connections, trenching and reinstatement of driveways, pressure testing and bacterial treatments.
We will need to cut some driveways and replace segments in Council verges. Those affected may not have access to their driveways for a maximum of one day.
There will be brief water supply interruptions. Affected residents will be notified in advance.
Thanks for your patience while we carry out these works.
Road reseal completed. Awaiting linemarking.
Resealing is a preventative road maintenance technique which restores the seal to keep the water out and prolongs the life of the pavement. It is also a much cheaper option than fixing pavement problems which cost about 10–20 more than resealing and requires considerably longer time to complete resulting in significant impact on road users.
These works were planned before the flood and will not take away resources from flood recovery efforts.
