Tweed Regional Indoor Sports Facility – feasibility study

Council is progressing with plans to investigate the feasibility of a new Regional Indoor Sports Facility, a key initiative in the Sport and Active Recreation Strategy 2023–2033.

A Project Reference Group (PRG) has been established to guide the pre-feasibility study, ensuring the facility aligns with community needs and is financially viable. The study will evaluate the demand for the facility, explore various options and assess potential locations, including the possibility of upgrading aquatic facilities. A Shire-wide site analysis will identify 2–3 suitable locations, estimate costs and evaluate the facility's scope and feasibility. A final report will be presented to Council, covering community needs, financial viability and the recommended site.
