Terms and conditions

The competition is open to all ratepayers of the Tweed Shire who are registered to receive rates notices electronically and whose rates are not in arrears with the eligible date being the instalment due date.

Tweed Shire Councillors and employees will not be eligible for the inclusion in the prize draws.

Draws will be held each quarter on the following dates:

The prizes of $1000 will be drawn in open Council meetings for public and media attendance at 5:30 pm to be held in either the Council Chambers at Murwillumbah Administration Office, Civic and Cultural Centre, 

10 – 14 Tumbulgum Road, Murwillumbah or the Harvard Room, Tweed Heads Administration Office, Civic and Cultural Centre, corner Brett Street and Wharf Street, Tweed Heads.

The prize winners will be notified within 5 days by phone/email and in writing.  A public notice will appear in the Tweed Link following each draw, as well as appearing on Council’s website.

The winners will be invited at his/her own expense to attend the next ordinary Council meeting after each draw for a formal presentation of the prize by Mayor and Councillors.

In the event that prizes remain unclaimed after 3 months from the original draws, re-draws will be conducted in open Council meetings for public and media attendance at 5:30 pm to be held in either the Council Chambers at Murwillumbah Administration Office, Civic and Cultural Centre, 10 – 14 Tumbulgum Road, Murwillumbah or the Harvard Room, Tweed Heads Administration Office, Civic and Cultural Centre, corner Brett Street and Wharf Street, Tweed Heads.

In the case of re-draws, the prize winners will be notified within 2 working days by phone/email and in writing. A public notice will appear in the Tweed Link following each draw, as well as appearing on Council’s website.

If you're unable to sign up for eNotices, for example when there are multiple owners of a property, you can register with BPAY View® to receive an electronic payment reminder from your bank.

View and pay your rates and water notices where you do your online banking. To register for BPAY View® for Tweed Shire Council you will need your rates or water notice. Depending on your bank you will receive a text message or email reminder to pay your bill.

Note: You will no longer receive a copy of your rates or water notice from Council once you have registered for with BPAY View®.
