Need a grant to support your event or community project?

Funding rounds open for community grants and events sponsorships

Community grant applications open

Council’s Community Grants program offers financial assistance to local groups or individuals who want to fulfil meaningful projects across the Tweed.

Funding rounds for Tweed Shire Council’s Community Grants Program and Events Sponsorship are now open.

Both funding rounds will award financial assistance for meaningful community projects and uniquely Tweed events.

The Community Grants Program offers financial support for projects that enhance community wellbeing, grow community resilience or activate spaces where communities can gather, celebrate and socialise.

The Events Sponsorship funding round offers financial assistance to events that help build a vibrant Tweed community and support the Tweed to be a great place to live and visit, with Council supporting a range of events including sport, food, music, community and the arts.

Mayor of Tweed Shire Chris Cherry said Council proudly supported ventures that added to the vibrancy of the Tweed and helped the community thrive.

“Council is delighted to offer funding opportunities to people that are making a positive contribution to the Tweed,” Cr Cherry said.

“We encourage anyone eligible with a great project or event to apply and take advantage of these funding opportunities.”

During the 2023/24 financial year, some events that received funding included the Murwillumbah Show, Kingscliff Triathlon, Kinship Festival, Murwillumbah Arts Trail, and the Horseless Carriage Club of America 8th International Tour - Tweed Valley.

Community projects that have previously received funding include a community garden project, a program for young farmers to connect, learn and share knowledge.
