Queens Park changeroom and canteen upgrade

We upgraded the changeroom and canteen facilities at Queens Park in Murwillumbah to improve their resilience against future floods and weather events.

Project Schedule

• Planning: October 2024
• Construction: Project completed May 2025

Works included

• Renovated the building, including both exterior and interior improvements
• Replaced roof sheeting, gutters, and downpipes
• Installed new epoxy flooring
• Completed plumbing and electrical works
• Painted the interior and exterior
• Installed flood-resistant fittings and fixtures
• Carried out a comprehensive deep clean
• Accessible public toilet (future stage)

Why it happened

Severe weather and flooding in 2017 and 2022 caused substantial damage to the changeroom facilities and canteen.

Jointly funded by the Australian and NSW Governments.
