Ed Parker Rotary Park car park upgrade

Ed Parker Park Kingscliff (16).JPG

At Ed Parker Rotary Park, we asphalted the internal road and existing car parking spaces, complete with line marking. Previously, only half the parking area was sealed, while the rest was road base that often developed potholes after wet weather.

As part of the upgrade, we removed the central turning loop and created a cul-de-sac at the northern end of the park. We asphalted the car parking spaces on the eastern side and converted sections of the loop road back to parkland. We also added new pathways and accessible parking spaces to improve traffic flow, accessibility, and the overall look and feel of the park.

Why it happened

We upgraded Ed Parker Rotary Park to enhance its recreational and visual appeal while improving traffic flow and accessibility.

Wet weather, especially during the 2017 and 2022 floods, had caused major damage to the car park, making maintenance difficult and expensive. By upgrading the car park, we improved safety, reduced environmental impact and created a more sustainable and manageable solution for the area.
