Tweed Community Services delivers two of the Australian government's My Aged Care programs:

  • Regional Assessment Service (RAS) and;

  • Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)

My Aged Care is a national online and phone service to help you find out about aged care services and what may be available to you. The MyAgedCare contact centre and website is your starting point to access a range of aged care services.

Regional Assessment Service (RAS)

Tweed Community Services, through Community Options Australia, delivers the My Aged Care Regional Assessment Service (RAS)

What is RAS?

As part of My Aged Care, the Regional Assessment Service provides assessments in your home. This is a nationally consistent Assessment Service for older Australians requiring low, basic support at home.

Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)

Tweed Community Services delivers the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) on behalf of the Australian Government. CHSP provides entry-level help to older people to stay independent and in their own homes and communities for longer. Depending on your needs, support services that Tweed Community Services deliver that you may be eligible for include:

Community and home support
  • domestic assistance - household jobs like cleaning, laundry
  • personal care- help with bathing, showering or getting dressed
  • home modification - minor installation of safety aids such as alarms, ramps and support rails in your home
  • social support - social activities in a community-based setting
  • transport - help getting out and about for shopping and appointments
Food services
  • help with shopping for food
  • help with making meals and storing food in your home
  • assistance with learning to cook
  • delivering meals to your home
Allied health support services
  • podiatry (food care)
Care relationships and carer support
  • respite care (alternative care for you while your carer takes a break)

CHSP provides other services to support older people to stay independent and in their own homes and communities for longer.
