Filming and photography in the Tweed

Important Notice: Council will not be processing filming and photography applications from close of business on Thursday 18 December 2025 until close of business on Friday 23 January 2026.
Applications received during this period will be queued for consideration and processed when usual service levels resume.

The Tweed offers a range of rural, coastal and scenic locations that are quiet and attractive to filmmakers and photographers.

Before applying for a licence, filmmakers must read the NSW Film Protocol and also consider the impact on the community, residents and businesses to ensure public safety and the environment are protected.

Refer to the flowchart on how Council manages film applications.

Council’s Film Contact Officer (FCO) is available on 02 6670 2735 or via events@tweed.nsw.gov.au to discuss your requirements before making an application.
