Part of your everyday

Our staff are proud to be part of the Tweed community – and part of your everyday. We coach sport on the weekend. We walk our dogs and drop our kids off to school. We have a cuppa at home like everyone else.

We’re part of the community’s everyday lives in ways that are often not seen. We deliver safe drinking water, maintain parks, support local businesses and more. Our staff provide the services that help the Tweed thrive.

At the heart of everything we do is a shared commitment to making the Tweed even better tomorrow than it is today.

There are so many reasons we are proud to be part of our community’s everyday. Discover a few of those reasons below or explore the 53 services Council provides to keep our community running.

We provide safe, high-quality drinking water that often scores better than leading bottled brands in lab tests.

We mow the equivalent of 401 NRL football fields every fortnight during the growing season.

We compost the weight of approximately 210 small cars every week. That’s a big win for the environment.

We’re responsible for 1,244 km of local roads – that’s further than Tweed Heads to Canberra.

We fixed more than 420 potholes every week from July 2024 to May 2025.

More than 90 sports and recreation clubs and associations access Tweed Shire Council facilities across the Tweed.

We secured more than $68 million* in grants to improve our community and flood resilience without ratepayer funds.
*From 1 July 2024 to 30 May 2025.

Our friendly customer service staff help you find the information you need, answering 1,200 calls each week on average.
