Coronavirus (COVID-19) update
Beach patrols by volunteer surf lifesavers have been cancelled for the rest of the season, however Council has increased paid patrols to help prevent emergencies on our beaches.

The Tweed has 37 kilometres of coastline featuring some of the most pristine and stunning beaches in NSW. The Tweed coast has four Surf Life Saving Clubs at Salt, Fingal Head, Cabarita and Kingscliff.
A detailed description of each beach as well as what beaches are patrolled and when can also be found by visiting Surf Life Saving - Find a beach (external link).
Tweed's Gazetted beaches include:
- Letitia Beach
- Kingscliff Beach
- South Kingscliff Beach
- Casuarina Beach
- Bogangar Beach
- Cabarita Beach
- Cudgera Beach
- Pottsville Beach
- Mooball Beach
- Wooyung Beach
Dreamtime Beach - Due to the rough surf conditions and drownings, it is recommended that there is no swimming at Dreamtime Beach. It is always best to swim at a patrolled beach. Please refer to the Life Guard Patrol below and NSW Surf Life Saving - Find a beach (external link).
Council does not permit the lighting of fires on Council controlled land, this includes beaches.
Members of the public wishing to use one of the Tweed beaches for recreational business purposes should contact Council for the appropriate permit.
For information about weddings or events on beaches see Parks, Gardens and Reserves.
For information about filming on a beach see Filming and Photography.
For more information about beach access and permits please also see Vehicle Permits.
Horses may be ridden on beaches where there is no signage stating that this activity is prohibited. This also includes coastal creek areas. However horses are not permitted in areas that are patrolled by surf life saving associations and where there are areas of high pedestrian traffic. Riders are also requested, where possible, to remove and dispose of any manure that may be deposited in a public place. Council anticipates the cooperation of all equine clubs and horse riders in these matter and favours self regulation as the most effective form of control, however, failing to comply with the above request may result in Council undertaking alternative measures to assist in regulation.
