The NSW Seniors Festival is an annual NSW Government event auspiced by Family and Community Services (FACS) and is the largest celebration for people over 60 in the southern hemisphere.

It is also for people aged 50 and older who have a lifelong disability or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The NSW Seniors Festival encourages seniors to actively participate in the community and provides them with opportunities to:

  • remain active, healthy and independent throughout the ageing process
  • learn, develop and educate themselves at any age
  • develop and expand their social networks
  • share their wealth of wisdom and breadth of life-experience with younger generations.

Seniors Festival 2021

The Seniors Festival will be held from Wednesday 14 April to Sunday 24 April 2021.

NSW Seniors Local Achievement Awards

Nominations are now open for the NSW Seniors Local Achievement Awards which will be announced on Wednesday, 14 April 2021. Nomination for achievement award (116kB PDF)

The NSW Seniors Local Achievement Awards program is run on a local level as part of the 2020 NSW Seniors Festival. The Local Achievement Awards provide an opportunity for MPs and communities to recognise the seniors that help make their community a diverse, active and inspiring place to live.

Opening ceremony

The Tweed Seniors Festival Opening Ceremony will be held on Wednesday 14 April 2021.

Festival program

The Seniors Festival will be held from 14 to 24 April 2021. The 10 days of festivities will include many activities and will be confirmed closer to the date.
