Due to the overwhelming success of last year’s Tweed Festive Glow Guide, Council is thrilled to bring back the much-loved interactive map that showcases the region’s most dazzling Christmas displays, all in one place.
Residents are invited to get into the festive spirit once again by decorating their homes and registering their displays online for the whole community to enjoy. Mayor of Tweed Shire Chris Cherry said the guide was a way of bringing the community together and she encouraged residents to get involved and make this year’s Festive Glow Guide even bigger. “The Festive Glow Guide was such a hit last year, it brought a real sense of Christmas magic to the Tweed - it was just wonderful to see so many families making Christmas memories while exploring their neighbourhoods,” Cr Cherry said. “We encourage people to walk or jump on their bikes to see the displays in their local area, but this year we also suggest people take a festive adventure to connect with other towns and villages across the Tweed. “I also want to stress that we don’t want people rushing out and buying new – use what you have, borrow or share – it's just about celebrating the festive spirit and there’s so much of it in the Tweed.” Kingscliff local Steve Bass said he had been decorating his front garden at Christmas since he could remember and that it was a wonderful time of year for local families. “The kids just love it when the street lights up. I do it for them, really. Everyone gets involved and it’s just a great time of year,” Mr Bass said. "It’s great to be able to share the festive spirit with others and connect with people.” Register your home’s festive decoration via the Tweed Festive Glow guide at tweed.nsw.gov.au/christmas Simply add your details and upload a pic of your display so it can feature on the Tweed Festive Glow Guide interactive map. The Guide can be accessed via any internet or mobile device. For more information visit tweed.nsw.gov.au/christmas
