Jim Devine.jpg

Council is upgrading the eastern car park at Jim Devine Field to make it more flood-resilient and easier for everyone to access the clubhouse and sports fields. The work includes a new asphalt surface, connecting footpaths, and more trees for better shade and comfort.

Project schedule

  • Planning: Mid 2024
  • Construction: 10 September 2025 to late November 2025, weather permitting

What’s involved

  • New asphalt car park with an upgraded entrance from Mooball Street
  • Connecting pathways
  • Additional accessible parking space in the western car park
  • New sandstone blocks to restrict vehicle access and provide informal seating
  • Returfing of damaged areas
  • Tree planting along Mooball Street

Why it’s happening

Severe weather and flooding in 2022 caused substantial damage to the internal access road and carpark, severely damaging the road surface and causing road subsidence.
