Second Hand Saturday is a free event held on the same day across the region by Tweed Shire Council, alongside six other Northern Rivers councils, where residents can hold garage sales with free advertising and where avid shoppers can hunt for bargains across the whole region.

Residents and shoppers can plan their garage sale expedition by looking for particular items using the search app that can be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store, and also see what sales are taking place in particular suburbs through the interactive map.

The official starting time is 8am to give sellers time to get organised before the big event, however keep an eye out for the 'Garage Sale Here Today' posters at the front of each property, which may advertise individual start and finish times.

Participating Council areas include: Tweed, Ballina, Byron, Clarence Valley, Kyogle, Lismore and Richmond Valley.
