There’s plenty to do locally these school holidays

Our school holiday program has a lot to offer from indoor activities at your local library, museum and gallery to water play at the Murwillumbah pool. We've got everything covered and all activities are free or low cost.

Things to do

Splash and slide into a day of fun for the whole family at TRAC Murwillumbah

If you're looking for something different to do with the kids these school holidays – TRAC Murwillumbah is a great family friendly destination.

  • Take on the Giant Hill Slide.
  • Cool off at the shaded toddler play pool.
  • Chill out in the indoor/outdoor pools.
  • Thrill seekers can jump off the two diving boards.
  • Sit back and relax at the grassed picnic and BBQ areas where you can buy lunch at the Starting Block café or BYO food.

Family pass only $30 when purchased online.

Slide and Dive open 10am to 4pm every day during NSW school holidays.

Hiromi Hotel - Healing Wednesdays

Drop into ‘Hiromi Hotel’ for a free program of creative and meditative activities inspired by the summer exhibition Healing Circle - Home. Explore mindfulness, meditation, slow art, yoga, dance and movement, music and circle drawing with our healing facilitators. Check the Gallery's website for the weekly program.

Free, no bookings required. Adults and children welcome.

Free guided tours of the Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre

Free guided tours are hosted by trained volunteer gallery guides at 11.30am (NSW time) Wednesdays to Sundays (except public holidays). The tours last approximately 45 –60 minutes and provide a glimpse into the history of the Gallery and the exhibitions on display.

There's four exciting new exhibitions that have just opened including Hiromi Tango's Healing Circle — Home, Salient: Contemporary Artists at the Western Front, Vicki Stavrou’s Coastal Muse and For Country, For Nation, a touring exhibition from the Australian War Memorial.

You can also enjoy design activities in the Gallery Foyer | MOAC Kids' Guide, digital drawing, painting and symphony on the iPads.

To join the free tour, meet the Gallery Guide at the front foyer before 11.30am (NSW time), and for more information visit The Gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am – 5pm (NSW) including Boxing Day and New Years Day. Closed Christmas Day.

DreamWorks Animation: the Exhibition – Journey from Sketch to Screen

Virtual interactive tour via live link up with the National Museum of Australia. Discover the behind-the-scenes world of DreamWorks Animation’s most popular films. Stay for a Flipbook Animation Workshop at the library or the screening of DreamWorks’ Abominable movie at the Regent Cinema after the tour.
