Council is running programs for over 65s and over 50s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from February to June 2020. The programs offer skills and connection, both face to face and online, to ensure independence and creative methods of supporting people to stay living in their own home safely, for longer.

Many seniors in the Tweed Shire are living alone and more vulnerable to feelings of isolation, therefore providing opportunities to connect in their own communities can be invaluable.

The programs aim to give participants choice and aimed at social and community connection across the Tweed.

This project will operate across the Tweed providing opportunities for Tweed seniors in urban and rural locations to participate in and increase physical activity.

The programs are funded by the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) Innovation Grant. All programs are either free or at a subsidised cost and include morning or afternoon tea.

See details for the programs below, including how to register for each program.
