Code of meeting practice

All Council meetings and people attending Council meetings are governed by our Code of Meeting Practice (353kB PDF).

In Council Meetings, Councillors consider reports on a range of Council related matters.

The Planning Committee only discusses planning related matters.

Planning Committee recommendations are adopted at the associated Council Meeting on the same date. This Council meeting also includes any urgent matters raised for determination by Councillors.

Confidential items at all meetings are considered in a closed session, which excludes the press and public.

Filming and broadcasting of meetings (webcasting)

From Thursday 6 February 2020, all Council Meetings and Planning Committee Meetings will be filmed and broadcast (in line with NSW legislation) using our new webcasting service, Civic Clerk. This increases the transparency of Council decision making and allows access for members of our community who are unable to attend in person.

The video is uploaded following the meeting/s and viewers can go straight to an agenda item without having to watch the entire meeting webcast.

Note: If you attend one of these meetings in the public gallery, you may appear in the broadcast recording.
