Tourism is a significant driver of the Tweed Shire's economy, contributing an estimated $278 million to Gross Regional Product.

Council owns and operates a number of award winning tourist facilities:

The Tweed Tourism Company (external link) is the body responsible for promoting Tourism in the Tweed and is contracted by Council to promote the Tweed as a tourism destination, identify new tourism, and operating Visitor Information Centres (external link) throughout the Shire.

The Tweed Tourism Company (external link) are also responsible for developing a Destination Management Plan for the Tweed in conjunction with The North Coast Destination Network and Destination NSW.
