City of Arts Space

Stage 1 New Media Arts Residency
This will connect the City of the Arts space with the three newly launched hinterland village Community Technology Centres via a cultural interchange in a diversity of modalities.
The format of the residency will focus on Interdisciplinary Art Practice, New Technology
and Local Distinctiveness. It will provide visiting artists with a platform to develop their own practice, while at the same time engaging with the local community. Current discussions with NORPA, Northern Rivers Dance Action and the three Technology Centres signals growing potential and interest to develop a cross fertilisation between Movement/Dance and New Media/ Technology.

Stage 2 Industrious Arts Incubator
The Incubator will initiate a strategic approach to revitalise and improve the marketing, promotion and exporting our local ‘arts industry’ by:
-quantifying the existing economic value and structural characteristics to guide the economic performance of local  cultural/arts      industry development
-compiling and publishing an Artists of the Tweed prospectus
-implementing a strategic plan for cultural industry development
-providing skills development, training and broader opportunities for local cultural, arts and crafts related industry workers to  better market and export their work.
