Water Loss Management - Tweed Shire Council
Another vital component of the Shire’s demand management is reducing the amount of water lost through operation of the system. Water is lost when pipes burst, during cleaning and maintenance operations, or through ongoing leakages due to ageing equipment or unreported damage. Tweed Shire Council has an ongoing program of leak detection and system replacement, which is now being enhanced through the introduction of computer based modelling and alternative management techniques such as pressure and flow reduction.
