Planning, Development and Building
Welcome to Tweed Council’s Planning, Development and Building web section.
As part of Council’s Development Assessment Review Project this new web section has been created to provide residents, business operators and community groups of the Tweed Shire with a comprehensive guide to Council’s development assessment processes, from strategic plan making, assessment, construction and building sign-off stages.
Information can be sourced through 3 main sub-sections:
- Planning – a guide of all existing and draft strategies and development assessment controls, such as State Environmental Planning Policies, Local Environmental Plans, Development Control Plans and Council policies. Associated information on Rezonings, Section 149 Certificates, and Developer Contributions is also available.
- Development – a guide on all the steps involved with development applications (DAs), including whether a DA is required, and the preparation, lodgement and determination of DAs. Other associated subdivision and engineering processes are also explained.
- Building – a guide on any further required approvals including Construction Certificates, and the preparation for, and proper site management of the construction of new building works.
Please click on FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) on the left hand side menu to gain quick links to key information such as application forms, fees, checklists and Council’s main LEP and DCP documents.
