Google Map Reference - What's This?

A Google Map Reference is a hyperlink to the Google Maps web site that displays where your event is being held on a Google Map and allows the attendee to then use all the Google Maps functionality such as getting directions to the location etc.

To add a Google Map Reference to your event:

1. Visit the http://maps.google.com.au web site
2. Type in your event location address at the top of the page (including town and state) and click on the "Search Maps" button. The Google Maps page should zoom into that address on the map and show a pointer for your event location.
3. Click on "Link" on the right hand side of the page above your map
4. Copy the web site address (starting with http://maps.google.com... shown under "Paste link in email or IM" (this can be done by ensuring the web site address is highlighted, right-click on the highlighted text then left-click on 'Copy')
5. Now come back to our web site "Submit Event Information" popup and "paste" the address in the Google Map Reference box provided (this can be done by right-clicking in the box then left-clicking the 'Past' option)
6. You're done. This map reference will be available to anyone who views your event on our Community Events page.
