Activity in the development and construction industry is a recognised indicator of regional economic development and growth.

Council produces a range of reports to inform ratepayers and the business community of development and building activity in the Shire. The reports draw from statistical data of approved and constructed developments, their relative value, and provides information on significant developments that influence on the local economy, business, industry and property markets.

Annual and quarterly newsletters provide general commentary and statistics at both Shire wide and principal business centre level (Tweed Heads, South Tweed, Murwillumbah and Kingscliff). Details of development data is also provided in excel spreadsheet format.
