 Introduction to Tweed Shire Council

Vision

The Tweed will be recognised for its desirable lifestyle, strong community, unique character and environment, and the opportunities its residents enjoy.

Mission

Working with community and partners, provide leadership in facilitating and delivering services that manage growth sustainably; create opportunity; and enhance the value of our civic and natural assets for this and future generations.

Customer Service Charter

 Customer Service Charter Policy
Tweed Shire Council is committed to striving to meet the needs of our ratepayers, residents and clients in a professional and ethical manner with courteous and efficient service.

Code of Conduct

 Code of Conduct Policy
The Local Government Act 1993 requires every council to adopt a code of conduct that incorporates the provisions of The Model Code of Conduct for Local Councils in NSW.

Councillors, members of staff of council and delegates of the council must comply with the applicable provisions of council’s code of conduct.

It is the personal responsibility of council officials to comply with the standards in the code and regularly review their personal circumstances with this in mind.

Council contractors and volunteers will also be required to observe the relevant provisions of council’s code of conduct.

Business Ethics - Council Policy

 Business Ethics Policy
A business ethics policy outlines the moral standards which will guide the organisation in carrying out its business.

It is the morality based structural framework which guides decision making and behaviour by all members of the organisation – in all of their actions and in relation to the responsibilities required by their role within the organisation.

This framework exists concurrently with the legislative, regulatory and other policy requirements which mandate or otherwise affect the business of the organisation.
