'Live Life Well' Initiatives in NSW
Tweed Shire Council and the North Coast Area Health Service Health Promotion team are proud to be working together to support the health and well-being of the Murwillumbah community. Successful walking groups are already established in Tweed Heads, and the success of the Healthy Heart Walk during Seniors Week in March 2007 indicated much interest to establish a walking program in Murwillumbah.

Eight informative ‘Murwillumbah on the Move’ brochures, indicating landmarks and incorporating local history, have been produced. The brochures offer visually delightful walking routes to follow and are graded from gentle and easy to walks for those who are a little fitter. With support from the National Heart Foundation’s ‘Just Walk It’ program, local volunteer leaders from the Murwillumbah community are ready and keen to lead the way.

The walks are free and Walk Leaders guide different walks on Wednesdays and Saturdays, starting at 7.50am from the World Heritage Rainforest Centre in Murwillumbah. Walkers need to register with Walk Leaders prior to joining the groups on 02 6672 5840 (Sandra & Graham) or 02 6677 9121 (Lyn & Frank).

All of our 'Murwillumbah on the Move' brochures are available to download directly from Council's web site using the links provided below.
