Cultural Survey and Data Analysis
In 2001 Tweed Shire Council adopted its first Cultural Plan, Stretching Cultural Dimensions Cultural Program Plan. The strategic plan has provided Council with a valuable roadmap to coordinate and manage the Shire’s cultural resources. The Plan has now completed its cycle and it is time to develop new priorities and methods to address the cultural needs and aspirations of our community.
In order to identify arts and cultural activity that is locally determined and relevant to the needs of our community, Council undertook a Research Project in partnership and collaboration with Griffith University to ascertain the long-term benefits and milestones that were reached since the adoption of our first cultural plan. The data provides valuable information that will help us evaluate the Tweed’s current status in terms of cultural consumption, production and performance.
