Prizes and Awards at the Tweed River Art Gallery
Olive Cotton Award for Photographic Portraiture
An annual national award for excellence in photographic portraiture dedicated to the memory of Olive Cotton, one of Australia’s leading twentieth century photographers.
The winning works are acquired for the Gallery’s Collection.
The exhibition is selected from entrants across Australia and is a significant opportunity for both emerging and established photographers.
The Border Art Prize
In 2001, a new Prize, the Border Art Prize (non-acquisitive and for local artists only) was held at the Gold Coast City Art Gallery.
The Tweed River Art Gallery shows the prize in alternate years, 2002 being the first, hence the name Border Art Prize.
The prize was instigated by Gary Corbett, the Gallery’s Director. This exhibition showcases the huge wealth of talent in the Gold Coast/Tweed region.
