Government Rebates and Incentives

1. The NSW Government is offering up to $1500 towards a new rainwater tank installed on existing homes between 1 July 2007 and 30 June 2011. Full eligibility criteria and the application form are available from www.environment.nsw.gov.au/rebates or by calling 1300 361 967
   
   
2. The Australian Government is offering up to $500 towards a new rainwater tank (or greywater system) which is purchased after 30 January 2009. The tank must be connected for use within the house (e.g. toilet, washing machine). 1. The NSW Government is offering between $800 and $1200 towards a new solar hot water system installed on an existing home between 1 October 2007 and 30 June 2011. 3. A third rebate of approximately $1000 is also available through the Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) scheme. Ask about REC’s when obtaining a quote or go to www.orer.gov.au for more information

The NSW Government is offering $150 towards a new washing machine provided it is at least 4.5 star water efficient and is purchased and installed between 1 August 2008 and 30 June 2010.

The National Solar Schools Program offers grants of up to $50,000 (GST exclusive) to install solar and other renewable power systems, solar hot water systems, rainwater tanks and a range of energy efficiency measures.

The Public Facilities Program provides up to $40,000 to not for profit organisations for measures such as rainwater tanks, installing water-efficient toilets, fixtures and fittings, lighting and hot water system upgrades, insulation and other measures to improve heating and cooling efficiency.
